Drosophila hydei is a larger species which takes takes about 21 days to complete its life cycle. These larger flies are about 3mm long, and great for any small newly hatched geckos or lizards, poison dart frogs, mantids, newly hatched chameleons or any small animal. These flightless Drosophila hydei are about 3mm and are an ideal food for poison dart frogs, fish, praying mantis, young frogs and toads, and other reptiles, amphibians, or captive animals that require small foods. Each culture is made with a special growing media, containing vitamins, minerals, and colour enhancers that produce an amazing amount of flies! Flightless fruit flies have been selectively bred with small wings so that they cannot fly, so you don’t need to worry about escaped flies buzzing around your head or about your pet’s inability to catch flying flies!
