Beautiful but pricey recycled glassesI ordered these as I like the idea of the unique recycled quality and they have more of a story than just bulk made glasses, and so far they have become a favourite when having guests around! Our pack came with 3 green and 3 brown bottle glasses (personally, the brown ones are my favourite) and each are of the same size to hold 400ml of liquid, but they are all made from different bottles which means that the base of each one is slightly different. This can mean that getting suds out when cleaning can be a bit of an annoyance but I like the uniqueness of each glass. To achieve this uniqueness, it seems as though each glass is cut and sanded down at a set point and to make them safe; there is not a single point on any of the glasses that could be considered sharp or abrasive and you would almost think they had been formed in the shape, not up-cycled from wine bottles! The level of finish is definitely not something that could easily be achieved at home with a DIY project and they have become a talking point of people asking how ‘we’ made them, so they are popular with visitors for their uniqueness. Also, although not technically part of the product, I also loved how they came delivered in an eco-designed 100% recyclable cardboard box that kept the glasses all safe whilst being a one piece design. It doesn’t affect the product but it does show the high quality ethos the company making them seems to have.My only real complaint is that for a set of 6, the price point of around £5.50 per glass is on the toppier end. Yes, they are unique, beautiful and of great quality, but it is certainly on the higher end in terms of price point and I think this cost would certainly turn people off for what are essentially up-cycled wine bottles. Understandably, it could seem steep to some, but for me I can also see how the price seems fair considering the quality you get for a unique item that is eco-friendly. We have been using them for canned drinks and juices when people come around, but they are large enough to be used for a variety of drinks and I certainly look forward to using them until they need to be recycled again in (hopefully) many many years time!
